The weather is turning wintry in England and I really enjoy the opportunity to have really hearty home-cooked food. I enjoy salads and summer foods, but I also enjoy stews, braises, toad in the hole and shepherd’s pie. A hot sponge and custard is a lovely warming dessert on a cold evening too.
