I am excited to share with y’all that for the month of January I am a guest CT member at OScraps. OScraps is absolutely one of my favorite digital scrapbooking stores, so I am very happy to have this opportunity to be a part of the store creative team for the month of January. My gig officially started on January 10th and I already have a layout to share with y’all.
This layout was created for the January 2014 Copycat Challenge. This challenge is a scraplift challenge where you create a layout based on another person’s layout. OScraps makes that even easier by providing a template that can be used in any program compatible with PSD files (ex: Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Gimp and Paint Shop Pro).
With this layout, I wanted to create a layout with a more masculine feel but still reflect the brighter colors of the photos. I started the layout with the On The Go kit from Laitha’s Designs, which makes up most of the product used in the layout, and then used Vintage Album Collection Paper Pack from Joanne Brisebois and ForgetMeKnot from Tracy Martin Designs to complete the layout. I felt including the neutral papers from Joanne Brisebois was especially important to ensure the layout kept a masculine feel. David isn’t too excited when he is surrounded by overly feminine elements. lol
Are you ready to see the final layout? I really like how this turned out.
What do you think? Did I manage to maintain the masculine feel or is David going to be hunting me down tomorrow in horror? Also, did you like the additional explanation on how I created the layout? If so, I’ll keep doing it in the future.
I hope everyone has a great week in front of them! Whatever you do, don’t forget to document your memories.
(Note: I receive free product from OScraps in return for creating layouts.)
