I want to share with you my first layout of 2013. I wanted to scrap something earlier in the week. But I finally have a layout to share. For 2013, I will be sharing my layouts here and in my gallery. This way I can share a little more with you about the layout but still have all my layouts in one location.
This layout was created for the Designers TEAM Challenge at OScraps. After I started the layout I started wondering if I should complete the layout but nto as part of the challenge because one of the requirements of the challenge is that the layout contain 100% OScraps products. But then I decided I wanted to see if I could make a layout that I really liked but still meet all the requirements and I did it.
As I mentioned in my previous blog post, my word for 2013 is “Change”. And this layout was created as an art journaling page to share my word. I am really pleased with the way the final product. And I learned a little something new about Photoshop in the process.
I alway been very hesitant to use different colors or fonts in text on my layouts because I thought I had to create a new text layers for each word{s} I wanted to change. But I decided to do a little experimentation today and found that this is not true. I am very happy about this little discovery. I don’t know if this works in Photoshop Elements but it definitely works in Photoshop CS5. So very happy.
For the layout, one of the things I wanted to do was create a digi art journaling layout. I don’t know if purists will like what I did as the flower is definitely not a flat element. But I am happy with the way it came out.
Without further ado, here is the layout I created this morning. It was created using products from Merkeley Designs, Ashalee Wall, Cinzia Loosemore and Anna Aspnes.
I found the quote I used this morning and I am already in love with it. I will be adding it to my favorite quotes page soon.
I’d love to have you share your favorite sites for quotes to use on layouts or art journaling layouts you’ve created. Leave links to the layouts and I’ll be glad to leave you some love.
