For this week’s challenge the theme was shallow depth of field. Thankfully for me, this week’s challenge was much easier for me to get a good photo than the previous week. I still am not that happy with last week’s photo. But this week, I am pretty proud of the hibiscus photo I captured. Especially since I chose my own aperture setting and used manual focus. (My Canon XS spends a lot of time on Auto-focus.)
I had hard time choosing between this photo and three others. All of which were taken in my front yard. I thought I’d go ahead and share them with you since I really liked how they turned out.
This is a picture of one of the flowers on the bougainvillea in our front yard. As Hurrian Sandy made it’s way up to the coast it blew the bougainvillea over but it continues to thrive. I am not sure it would be possible to kill it. lol
This next photo is of a different hibiscus flower on the same bush. I love hibiscus flowers and if I had my way, the yard would be filled with them.
This final photo is actually of a weed. But I thought the white flower was so pretty that I stil had to capture it. I think this may be my second favorite, but it is definitely hard to decide.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out this week’s photos. If you are taking part in Project 52, leave me a link so I can drop by to see what has captured your imagination so far this year.
