As many of you know, this month I am doing the Ultimate Blog Challenge. I took on the challenge for two reasons. One, I wanted to get in the habit of regularly adding content to my blog. So far, I haven’t missed a day. I’ll have to admit that i am pretty proud of that fact. Two, I wanted to determine what content most interested my readers so I could put my focus there. This hasn’t been quite as successful. The month is almost over, and looking at the stats, I see multiple topics that seem to have the same interest level. That brings me to the point of today’s post.
I have created a survey that I’d like y’all to complete. It only has three questions. If you could take a couple of minutes to complete the survey, I would really appreciate it. (If you’ve already completed the survey on the Scribbles & Musings Fan Page, no need to answer here. It’s the same survey.)
Create your free online surveys with SurveyMonkey , the world’s leading questionnaire tool.
Feel free to leave me a comment on what topics you’d like to see me cover. I hope everyone has a great Saturday ahead of them!
The posts that really attract me are the ones where the writer seems very engaged, excited, and either knowledgeable (or in the process of learning and sharing that journey). So we’re back to “write what you love”. I know this advice frustrates me sometimes when it’s pointed at me, so I feel a little bad about giving it. I think it’s possible to build our audiences writing what we love. 🙂
Thanks for your comments, Theresa! My problem is that I love the things I’ve been blogging. I just want others to love them too. I hate feeling like I am talking to the wind. But I think I am going to have to keep just moving along and seeing what happens.
Like Theresa said, write about what you love writing about. If you mainly write what you think people want to read it will show eventually because you may not be engaged enough.
Just enjoy what you write – there will always be readers who like it, too!(And if they don’t, tell them to get lost ;-))
Angelika, I appreciate your thoughts. I think I will just keep doing what I am doing and see what happens. Hopefully others are enjoying it as well.
