For March, I am once again participating in NaBloPoMo over at Blogher. With this challenge, each month has a theme and for March the theme is “Self”. With NaBloPoMo, you are not required to use the daily post prompt, although you can. Last month, I used the occasional prompt and did some other “Perspective” posts. But I think March will be different. I suspect, I will follow many of the prompts for this month. Although I suspect I will go my own way plenty of times as well. That’s the great thing about blogging. At least when you blog for yourself. You can write about anything you want.
I think it’s important to take any opportunity to discover more about ourselves. I think as busy as we tend to be these days, it can be easy to overlook our own selves. We often spend more time worrying about the latest football game or the latest fashion than we do our selves. Is this really the best plan? I don’t think it really can be. We spend 24 hours a day with our selves, so it is important that we know this person well. That we take the time to understand what makes us happy. Why certain events always make us cry. What types of changes do we need to make. These are all things we should take the time to understand. I am not suggesting that we become selfish or self-absorbed. That would be counterproductive. What I am saying is that we can best accomplish all the things we need to do if we learn a little more about our selves.
As a digital scrapbooker, I am always working on an All About Me album. I’m afraid of late, I have let that album slide. This month, I intend to begin working on that album again. Below is a layout I created last week with a recent picture of myself. I just realized I didn’t date the layout, so I am going to get that done ASAP. It’s not very useful to create a layout oround a photo of yourself if no one knows when it was taken. :O)
I’m looking forward to learning more about myself this month while participating in the March NaBloPoMo. I think this is going to be a great month on the blog. I hope you think so too.
I hope you are having a great weekend. Mine has been pretty good so far. Whatever you are doing this weekend, don’t forget to document your memories.
Well said Cindy. We’re embarking on a voyage of discovery. I wonder what we’ll find that surprises us?
Linda, as long as we don’t scare ourselves. :O)
