I keep thinking I have more that I want to share on my blog that isn’t related to digital scrapbooking.  But I never get anything published.  Probably cause I want everything I post to be amazing.  But that is holding me back from posting anything other than photos and layouts.  So I decided to just go for it after reading a post of Josh Weed’s blog regarding giving himself 15 minutes to post something less nothing get posted.

This Sunday was a bit of a sad one for me.  It was my last Sunday working with the nursery kids.  David and I have been working in nursery for about 18 months now and we have loved it.  (This is actually our second time doing it together and I taught nursery before we got married.)  I’ve always loved Primary in the past, so I am sure I will love my new class.  But that doesn’t mean that I am not sad to leave my sweet nursery kids behind.  In fact, I created this digital art journaling layout to express my sadness.  (Okay, I guess this post will not be digiscrapping free.)

In a happier moment this afternoon, I captured this picture of my cat Cocoa and one of our two dogs, Sanosuke.  Cocoa has been living with us for a little over a year.  Initially, he was an outdoor cat that we were feeding.  But in November 2011, he needed to go to Orlando to stay with David’s brother while we were on vacation so he moved inside.  But everything was not smooth as silk from the start.  Every time either dog passed by Cocoa, he would make a swipe at the dogs.  Pretty soon they were scared to death of him and gave Cocoa wide birth.  Since the dogs slept in the bedroom with us while the cats ran the rest of the house at night, it wasn’t a problem.  But back in August, we lost our other cat to Lorenzo to old age.  (Not sure of the exact date, as we were also Lorenzo’s second home, but at least 13.)  Pretty soon, Cocoa wanted to sleep in the bedroom.  Since then, it’s been dogs on the bed or in their crates and cat on the floor.  Not a lot of interaction.  But then today, Cocoa jumped on our bed of his own accord for the first time.  And late in the afternoon, this is what I saw. It just made me so happy.

Finally I want to share a short video with you that I also found on Josh Weed’s blog.  It was created by his young daughter about Martin Luther King Jr.  I am very impressed that she wanted to make this video for kids to learn about Martin Luther King Jr.  So I wanted to share it with y’all.  It really would be a great introduction to MLK Jr for kids.

Okay, I know I said “finally” in my previous paragraph.  But Sazume, my other dog, was looking so sad.  I think it was because she realized Sanosuke was about to appear on the blog without her.  So that I am not playing any favorites, here is a picture of our girl Sazume.
