This post has a different title than most of my “quote” posts. The reason for the change is that today’s quote is meant as food for thought. Why do we choose to love those we love? Are we expecting something in return? Love? Shelter? Kindness? Or do we love simply for the act of loving?
I don’t think expecting love in return is wrong? I know I’d hate to think I had chosen to love someone who couldn’t love me in return. But are there times when we need to give our love to another without thought for what we might receive? I suspect there are times like that too.
No deep thought on love for today. I just wanted to give you something to think on. At least for a moment.
I hope everyone has a great week ahead of them! And that it’s filled with love.

Came over from ubc. Why we love who we do…Here is my two sort of thoughts on it.
We love who are comfortable with like an old shoe. “Right or wrong it doesn’t make any different”
We don’t love people who are exactly like us or to the extremely different.” We couldn’t handle it emotional.
Hope your day goes well and the coffee is on
Dora, thank you for your comments and thoughts! I appreciate your stopping by.
Hi again Cindy, that’s a lovely sentiment to think about and you’ve done a great job illustrating it. Love is complicated, isn’t it? Sometimes I try to explain my unconditional love form my children, (who are adults now) to my partner Robert, who has never had children, and it’s a very difficult thing to explain. Hmm. Have to think about it some more. Hope you’re having a lovely evening. 🙂 Visiting from UBC
