This week has been a pretty busy one for me. My participation in the Ultimate Blog Challenge. It’s been a good kind of busy, but I haven’t had as much time this week for layout creation. So I only have two pages to share with you today. But I think they are both kind of interesting and I hope you enjoy them.
My first page for today was created for the Show Us Your SHINE Creative Challenge at Scrapbook Graphics. This challenge required you to use pieces of three different kits. The big challenge in this for me was that it was an Autumn color palette. I live in South Florida and we have only have two seasons, tourist and hurricane. Not a lot of pictures with Fall colors. Thank goodness for digital art journaling. That gave me a fun way to use the three kits even though I didn’t have any photos. I am pretty happy with the way this page turned out.
The above layout definitely has an art journaling feel to it. This next layout, has a little different feel to it but I still think it is more art journaling than digiscrapping. I guess you’ll have to decide for yourself if you agree.
The inspiration for this layout actually came while reading blogs as part of the Ultimate Blog Challenge. I was reading a blog post on the Inner Affluence blog from Evelyn Kalinosky that had 20 Rumi quotes. As soon as I saw the quote shown in the layout, I was immediately inspired and I knew I would have to create a digital art journaling page for the quote. I’m not sure the final results are exactly what I envisioned. It’s a little different from what I normally do. But I think it conveys the desired feeling. I hope so anyway.
I hope you enjoyed my creations for the day. Were you inspired in anyway by either page? If so, what inspired you? Have you created art journaling pages before? If so, link me up so I can check out your creations. I am always looking for new inspiration.
I’m so glad to have discovered your work. I have no idea how you actually create these but I love the way they look! 🙂 The quotes and images you chose are great. Especially the Rumi quote and the butterflies; they really speak to my nomadic soul!
Thank you! I’m glad you like them. Maybe I should put together a post on how to create these pages.
I would love to know more about how you made these pages! They are beautiful.
Thank you! I’m considering doing a post on how to create the pages.
Hey this is so beautiful. This is a new thing I came to know by visiting your blog. Keep it up. You put the Rumi concept really well on the image !!
Before seeing your work, I did not know what art jounaling was. This is cool!
Thank you! I’m glad I could introduce you to one of my favorite things.
I have tons of scrapbooking papers..and gadgets…I have a scrapbooking program on my computer…but I know nothing! Would love to learn!
I am thinking of doing a post on getting started in digiscrapping.
